It's interesting to mention, that two different T-22 lenses have entered the market in 1949. T-22 6.3/75 mm was intended to replace an old T-21 6.3/80 on Komsomolets camera, and more advanced T-22 4.5/75 mm was calculated for newcomer - "Lubitel" camera. The particular brand was the first real soviet TLR camera indeed, since old Komsomolets had no possibility to measure the distance through the lens yet. Opposite you can see one of the very few T-22 4.5/75 mm specimens for LUBITEL camera. |

1st version (early) | |
| |
PK1205. Lubitel is the 1st soviet TLR camera, since old Komsomolets had no possibility to measure the distance through the lens yet. An earliest so far known version was announced in soviet press. The particular type has "Leningrad" markings underneath the shutter. Lens markings on the internal black disk. The Lubitel has small magnifier inside the waist finder already (see picture below). It's quite easy to recognize early Lubitel cameras, since they have magnifier's fixing marks on the top plate (see picture opposite, above the Gomz logotype). An earliest so far known camera has s/n #491189 (Molotok, 2010).

And even more - special springs on filter's compartment as on early Komsomolets cameras (see picture below). "SDELANO V CCCP" markings on the filter's door.

At least 3 versions of the export Lubitel camera are known to exist. It's interesting to mention, that all 3 versions were related with camera export to Sweden in 1950-1955. These cameras are identical to the local "brothers", but were fitted with nice non-russian origin brown leather cases.
Amatör and Atlantic cameras are identical to Lubitel cameras, but fitted with nice non-russian origin brown leather cases. Amatör-2 camera is unique since equiped with an additional synchro contact, never found on soviet Lubitel camera.
