Join Us on the Next Camerosity Podcast

Once again, it is that time to put out the call for the next episode of the Camerosity Podcast.  For Episode 94 we are going camera shopping at our favorite camera stores.  Joining us are Meredith and Corey from Roberts Camera (aka UsedPhotoPro) in Indianapolis, Indiana and Zeb from Blue Moon Camera in Portland, Oregon.  Of course, two of the Camerosity hosts, Paul and Stephen both used to work in camera stores too, so between those four, we hope to share some thoughts on big box camera retail then and now!

Much has changed in the photography space since Episode 30 when we did our last camera store episode.  Releases of new cameras like the Pentax 17, Rollei 35 AF, and recent announcements of a new “film like” digital Yashica SLR have caused a lot of ruckus and it will be interesting to hear how actual camera store people see these latest developments.

Is film really making a resurgence, are 2000s point and shoot digital cameras really worth $400, and are Chinese lenses really worth the investment?  This being the world’s first and only open source film and digital podcast, I have no idea if we’ll actually discuss any of these topics, but they sound good for this intro!

If you’ve worked in a camera store, or even if you haven’t come on the show and ask us some questions!  Help steer the discussion!

We will record Episode 94 on Monday, June 16th at 7pm Central Daylight Time and 8pm Eastern Daylight Time. Join the discussion and you can tell your grandchildren that you are part of the legacy of the Camerosity Podcast!

In order to join us, you’ll need the ability to join into a Zoom call through either a desktop computer or a mobile device running the Zoom app. Having your video on is not a requirement as we won’t use it for the show, but it might be helpful if you want to show us something. Although you will be joining us live, the podcast is not streamed live. It will be edited and posted later in the same week it is recorded.

It helps us tremendously if you have a good quality microphone and can participate in an area with minimal background noise. Although some background noise is to be expected, being in a public space or using your phone’s speakerphone will make it difficult to hear you.

Every other week, new episodes will be recorded (USUALLY) on Monday night from 7pm to approximately 9pm Central Daylight Time (UTC-5). This time slot is perfect for most of the United States, Australia, New Zealand, and most of Asia. Sadly, for those of you in Europe, unless you work the graveyard shift, it might be hard to join.

When it is time to join, you’ll need to click the following link or enter the following code into Zoom: 371 126 1517

As we can only handle a small amount of people at once, anyone trying to join will be placed into a waiting room and you will be let in when we can get to you. Once you join in, say your name, where you’re from and you can ask your question or bring up whatever you wanted to talk about. If there are a lot of people in the waiting room, we might not be able to get to everyone, but we’ll do our best!
