The camera collecting world lost a good friend on Friday. Dr. Karl Havens was an avid collector and photographer who was one of the creators of the Classic Lenses Podcast, and an administrator of the Photography with Classic Lenses Facebook group.
Karl was most known for his work with conservation in his home state of Florida working for the University of Florida and the Florida Sea Grant, but was also a husband and father to Pam and Andy Havens. Karl was an excellent photographer and in his free time could be found browsing eBay for the latest classic lenses to play with.
I was never able to meet Karl in person, but I chatted with him online and talked to him on the classic lenses podcast. He had a passion for nearly everything he touched, and will be missed by a lot of people, myself included.
Rest in Peace Karl, and hopefully they still have eBay in heaven.
Karl is bidding in HeavenBay right now, and teaching the angels the joys of manual focus lenses. Vale Karl, we will always miss you.
Hermosas palabras! Gracias.
