Zeiss Historica Fall 2013

Zeiss Historica Fall 2013

What is an automobile doing on the cover of the Fall 2013 catalog?  For those with a deep knowledge of Zeiss history, you’d know that they also made turn signals for cars and the this newsletter shows many examples of these curious relics.

Pg 2. Zeiss made many microscopes, even those used in surgery.

Pg 10. The Movikon 8 cine camera first made it’s debut in 1936 before changing in 1939 to the Movikon K8.

Pg 13. Zeiss made a variety of non photographic products including automobile turn signals from 1925 to 1933.

Pg 19. Pages from a 1938 automobile accessory brochure.

Pg 21. A few notes about Carl Zeiss Jena’s early photographic catalogs.

Pg 23. Zeiss-Ikon made many Nettar 515s, but none with this combination of shutter and lens, which seems to have been borrowed from a different camera, or was it?
