Today, I received a special package in the mail. Back on October 22nd, I placed a preorder for the (then) recently announced LOMO MC-A, a premium compact 35mm camera. With excitement from other all new 35mm cameras such as the Rollei 35 AF and the Pentax 17 dying down, it was time for someone else to step up to the plate and the team at Lomography not only stepped up, but they came out swinging.
Highlights for their new camera were a deluxe metal body, all glass 5-element multi-coated 35mm lens, auto focus plus zone focus modes, full automatic and manual exposure, a top LCD display, and a host of other features. I will spare you too much of you probably already know and get to the point.
I am extremely excited to have this camera and plan on testing it and doing a full review, but I know that will take me a couple of months to complete, so for now, I recorded an unboxing video to show you what it is like to open one of these for the very first time. This is a true unboxing video as I broke the seal on the outer FedEx box on camera. I had not seen the inside of one of these before, so in this 12 minute video, you are experiencing this with me for the first time.
One last bit of note, is that this is not a promotional camera. I ordered this camera on the retail website, and had to wait for it like everyone else. Lomography did not send me this camera for testing, I got it entirely on my own, so I was not compelled to be overly nice or critical of the camera. Please look for a much more detailed review with sample photos and my opinions later on in 2026!
Enough talking, and enjoy the video!

Fun video! I read your review and looked at the sample photos first. It’s quite an impressive little tool.
